Plaintiff Wants to Mention Stow Case During Trial of Fan Beating Suit

Attorneys for a man suing the Dodgers for alleged lax security that caused him to be beaten by a pair of patrons inside Dodger Stadium in 2018 wanted to tell jurors about the 2011 beating of Bryan Stow, despite opposition from the Dodgers’ lawyers.

Plaintiff Milton Flores alleges the team provided inadequate security and a lack of uniformed Los Angeles police officers the night he was assailed by two other men inside Dodger Stadium during an extra-inning playoff game. His Los Angeles Superior Court lawsuit names as defendants Los Angeles Dodgers LLC and the two alleged attackers, Robert and Jaime Joe Berumen. The suit does not state the relationship between the Berumens.

“Plaintiff is not seeking a retrial of the Stow case, but rather that (the Dodgers) knew that failing to execute its security plan can have injurious consequences and provides notice of likelihood by failing to deploy security properly,” Flores’ attorneys state in court papers filed Thursday with Judge Michelle C. Kim.
