Delphi murder suspect Richard Allen’s attorneys want to speak with Robert P. Baston, the Westville prison inmate who alleged guards and inmates are tormenting the Allen, who is accused of killing teenagers Libby German and Abby Williams.

Allen’s attorney, Brad Rozzi, filed a motion Thursday morning requesting a court order to expedite a meeting with Baston, who on April 28 filed a letter with the court alleging that the abuse.

District attorneys approve retention stipends for experienced lawyers

OKLAHOMA CITY — The District Attorneys Council on Thursday approved a plan to pay experienced attorneys a retention bonus.

“We pointed out to the Legislature that we have been losing mid-level prosecutors with experience at an astounding rate to the US Attorney’s office and Indian tribes,” said Tulsa County District Attorney Steve Kunzweiler. “We could not match their salaries they were offering those experienced prosecutors.”

Lawmakers appropriated about $2.2 million for the stipends.

Matt Ballard, chairman of the Oklahoma District Attorneys Council, said US Attorneys offices in the state are adding 98 prosecutors, which is “unprecedented.”

Trump attorney quits another case, cites ‘irreconcilable differences’

Former President Donald Trump’s attorney Jim Trusty, who withdrew from representing Trump in a pair of federal criminal probes last week, pulled out of yet another Trump legal matter Friday, citing “irreconcilable differences” with the former president.

In a filing with the US District Court of Southern Florida, Trusty indicated his intention to withdraw from Trump’s pending defamation lawsuit against CNN. The longshot lawsuit, which Trump filed last October, access the network of maligning him as a “’racist,’ ‘Russian lackey,’ ‘insurrectionist,’ and ultimately ‘Hitler.’”

Hennepin County Attorney’s Office collaborates with local law enforcement to combat youth car thefts

MINNEAPOLIS — The Hennepin County Attorney’s Office on Wednesday announced a collaboration with local law enforcement in an effort to combat youth auto theft.

Auto thefts in Minneapolis have increased over the past few years, after a social media video exposed a flaw in Kia and Hyundai cars that allowed thieves to quickly break in. Officials say a large number of cars are stolen by young people.

The collaboration with law enforcement has three parts, including meetings in which agencies will come together to identify youth in need of intervention. Social workers will also be in contact with families

Metro attorney says Trump’s attack of federal, Georgia prosecutors could backfire on him

Former President Donald Trump will surrender to federal authorities in Miami on Tuesday on charges he mishandled classified documents and obstructed justice.

He made his first public appearance after that indictment over the weekend here in Georgia.

IA Court of Appeals Affirms Granting of Exception Allowing for Converted Church in Residential Area to be Used for Small Gathering Space

The petitioner initially contested the grant of an exception to the local zoning ordinance to allow a converted church in a single-family residence area to be used as “small gathering space” for community events such as bridal and baby showers and class reunions.
