The Issue: Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s indictment of former President Donald Trump.

Donald Trump could have concentrated on a recreational life of material prosperity (“Fresh Proof Bragg’s Case Is Bogus,” Editorial, Apr. 7).

Instead, he has chosen to fight for a higher ideal — the preservation of our traditional American values.

My father will be 100 years old on Memorial Day weekend. He is one of the “greatest generation” who put himself in harm’s way, including the Battle of the Bulge.

He weeps today when he sees what is happening to the country that he fought for and risked his life for.

Every day he prays for Donald Trump’s re-election before what we know as the American way of life becomes a distant, forgotten memory.

DA Bragg’s case against Donald Trump is now under scrutiny. The charges did not state what Trump’s felony law had broken, causing many to question the legitimacy of the case.

The Sixth Amendment to the Constitution guarantees the right to a speedy and public trial, as well as the right to know the nature of the accusations brought against you.

Many believe that Bragg had missed this crucial aspect of the law.

Despite all of this, Judge Juan Merchan decided to set the next court date for Dec. 4, giving Bragg nine months to come up with a clear case against the ex-president.

This decision was met with widespread criticism, with many accusing the judge of deliberately dragging out the process to appease the Democratic Party.

Alvin Bragg is not the disgrace of all the claims he is. The real disgrace is the people of New York.

This guy didn’t just appear one day. The people voted him in, just like all the other Democrats get voted in. He ran on a platform of going after Trump. Why is everyone so surprised?

Many New Yorkers who are complaining didn’t even vote. That’s how you get fools like Bragg and AOC. It’s the public’s responsibility to recall and oust officials not doing their jobs. When the public turns its back on that responsibility, this is what you get.

Bragg is a destructive left-wing moron, but he never lies about his motives. New Yorkers are their own worst enemy.

Donald Trump is right about one thing: His indictments and arrangements are sad and a low point for our country. But it’s not for the reasons he believes.

The man who has concluded that he is above any law will finally have to answer to the law, although not yet for his most serious crimes against our country, its people, and our democratic system of governance.

A former president who cared about his country (and who sought to bring its people together) would not have to be admonished to avoid engaging in activities designed to rip it apart.

I really do not understand why everyone is so surprised and outraged over the ridiculous indictment of President Trump.

As with the rest of the disintegration of America being caused by the far left, it is a direct result of the uselessness of the Republican Party.

For the last 30 years, its members have allowed Democrats to indoctrinate our youth and take over colleges, schools, and much of the media.

They allowed them to weaponize the DOJ, FBI, and ATF. They did nothing to uphold conservative values.

They turn on each other, attack each other and never stick together. Just think of Liz Cheney, Mitt Romney, and other Republicans In Name Only.

Why wouldn’t Alvin Bragg do what he is doing? He knows no one will fight back at all.

As far as I’m concerned, conservatives in America need another party. The one we have now is good for nothing.

Neither Alvin Bragg nor Donald Trump ever served our country honorably. That’s exactly why the two of them deserve each other.
