Free Consent under the Indian Contract Act, 1872: Everything you need to know

To call a contract valid, the parties must consent to it freely and voluntarily. The principle of consensus-ad-idem is followed meaning the contracting parties must mean something in the same sense.  The contracting parties must have an identical understanding in regards to the contents of the contract.

In contract law in India, the meaning of consent is given in Section 13, which states that “it is when two or more persons agree upon the same thing and in the same sense”. So the two people must agree to the same thing in the same sense as well. Just giving consent

Defence to deliver closing arguments after prosecutor laid out motive for murders

The jury in Alex Murdaugh’s double murder trial will soon begin weighing the accused killer’s innocence or guilt of the brutal 7 June 2021 murders of his wife Maggie and son Paul.

On Thursday morning, the defence will deliver closing arguments in the Colleton County Courthouse in Walterboro where the disgraced attorney’s legal team hopes to plant reasonable doubt in the minds of jurors.

Then, following the state’s rebuttal argument, jury deliberations will begin – bringing the 54-year-old one step closer to learning his fate.

Nonprofit Christian organization (the “Organization”) appealed the planning board’s (the “Board”) denial of its application to build a recreational vehicle (RV) campground on its property, arguing that the proposed campground was within Dover Amendment’s (the “Amendment”) limits on the ability of municipalities to control the use of land or structures for religious purposes. The Land Court Department, Berkshire County, entered judgment in part for Organization. Board appealed, and the Organization cross-appealed. The Supreme Judicial Court on its initiative transferred the case from the Appeals Court.

Russia closes airspace and Putin’s spy plane destroyed

Russia closed its airspace over St Petersburg after an unidentified object was spotted flying over the city.

Officials closed the airspace over Pulkovo airport on Tuesday morning, with Russian military aircraft scrambled to search for the “intruder”, local media reports.

It comes after one of Vladimir Putin’s spy planes was destroyed by two drones at a Russian airbase in Belarus, according to reports.
